This week's nail theme is Winter Wonderland. My first attempt was horrid. I did a french mani with Essie Mint Candy Apple and tried to spice it up with some laser lace. After I applied it and realized how ridiculous it looked I did some research and realized it's supposed to be used with gel nails.
I ate some french fries and couldn't wash the ketchup off the laser lace to save my life. Disgusting. The peeling laser lace looks unsanitary and the rough texture kept getting on my nerves. Looks like somebody threw acid on my nails. My second attempt came out much better.
After that major fail I wanted to do something quick and easy. I nixed the french tips and did a glitter gradient instead. Used funky fingers glitter. To create the gradient I first did one coat on the whole nail. 2nd coat on half the nail. Next add 2 additional coats on the tips only. Ignore the messiness as I havn't cleaned up my edges yet.
So this reminds me of snowfall, or icicles or MERMAID SCALES. I had to get used to the pastel color since I'm more of a vampy polish girl but it grew on me.
See how long my nails have grown? I never had a problem growing my nails but lately since I've been messing with the falsies and not taking care of them they break and split easily. When I see a split I want to peel it off making the nail eventually break. The right hand in particular since I use it more. Keeping them painted has kept me from messing with them and I'm also taking a crapload of biotin supplements.
